Behavioural Neurobiology

Department 70
Leaders: Jószef Haller and Dóra Zelena

Our department investigates the behavioral effects of normal and abnormal nervous system processes using rodent models. Our main profile is the study of stress-related anxiety, depression disorders, social behavior (primarily aggression) and learning and memory processes. We manipulate brain function by a number of methods (pharmacological treatment, optogenetics, chemogenetics, etc.) and our studies are aimed not only at describing behavior, but also in mapping hormonal and molecular changes simultaneously.
