Endocrine Neurobiology

Department 20
Leader: Zsolt Liposits

Reproduction, metabolism and adaptation are essential physiological functions of the human body that are regulated by the hypothalamus via the endocrine and autonomic nervous systems. Dysfunctions of these regulatory mechanisms result in severe illnesses including infertility, obesity and stress disease. The researchers of the Department of Endocrine Neurobiology study these regulatory mechanisms at molecular, cellular and system biology levels using cutting-edge techniques of neuroscience.
