I have established my laboratories at the Institute of Experimental Medicine of the Eotvos Lorand Research Network (then the Hungarian Academy of Sciences) and at the Pázmány Péter Catholic University in order to investigate cortical microcircuits by performing simultaneous 3D network and dendritic measurements both in vivo and in vitro. As the head of the Imaging Center, I focus our work on:
· Designing unique fast 3D microscope techniques for dendritic and simultaneous network imaging in large volumes with the use of organic dyes and genetically encoded sensors (GCaMP6),
· Measuring dendritic computation during synchronous network activities such as sharp-wave ripple activity,
· Studying dendritic integration in interneurons,
· Developing novel two-photon uncaging techniques and compounds (caged GABA, glutamate, serotonin, dopamine),
· 3D-AO imaging of dendritic computation in awake animals

Flóra Zsófia Fedor's primary tasks within the molecular biology laboratory are to establish the anatomical foundation of any ongoing research, carry out immunohistochemical examinations and to collate and analyze the accumulated data. She plays a key role in validating viral vectors custom-designed by the laboratory, using animal models, and has a keen interest in in vivo electrophysiological projects as well.
